High School

What’s your major/minor?
- I am currently studying Business Management while also taking military science courses.
Are you in any programs/associations/clubs at Salisbury University?
- Along with lacrosse, I am a part of Salisbury’s Army ROTC program. I am a contracted cadet and will commission as a 2nd Lt. upon graduating from Salisbury. I also work as a bartender and security guard at a local bar.
Any Hobbies?
- I enjoy playing video games in my free time, not a big fan of sports games though. I also enjoy staying active and working out.
Accolades to Date (including HS and College)?
- 1st team all-area in Frederick county Junior and Senior year.
Best College Lacrosse Moment to Date?
- It’s defiantly a tie between winning the National Championship my Sophomore year and being named a captain this year. Having fellow Roughrider alum Colin Reyman making an amazing save on the crease with 6 seconds left in the game to seal the win and storm the field was incredible. Then to join the company of the great past leaders here at SU and being named a team captain was an incredible honor.
Favorite Pregame Meal?
- I try to keep it light but still giving me energy I need. My go to is a medium black coffee, a protein bar, and a banana.
Favorite Pregame Song?
- Super freak by Rick James.
Any Pregame Superstitions?
- Not big on superstitions, just focus on what the task at hand is and doing what I need to do to help the team be successful that day.
How many years were you with the Roughrider program?
- I was only with the Rough Riders for one summer, but it was the reason I was able to get recruited by so many schools and ultimately helping me land a spot here at Salisbury.
What did you learn from your Roughrider Coaches?
- That “proper English never takes a day off” and just how to play the game of lacrosse at a higher pace. Before playing for the Roughriders I had never experienced lacrosse at such a fast pace. Booker and Lee helped me improve my game and get ready for what was at hand at the next level.
Best Roughrider Moment?
- The best moment I had was the overnight stay we had at a tournament in Princeton New Jersey. We took a bus together to give us a feel of what it was like to for an away game as a team. We also got to stay in an amazing 5 star hotel. After the first day of the tournament the boys went back to the hotel still hungry for more we took to the hotel gym got a lift in and then hopped into the pool. After all said and done we watched some will Ferrell films and called it a day. A trip I’ll never forget and it really brought us all closer as a team.
Any advice for current High School players looking to play in College?
- Look for a college first and a lacrosse team second. To many times I’ve seen kids who are set on going division one or looking for a “lacrosse” school only to find out they would of never considered the school if it wasn’t for lacrosse. Make sure you are looking for a quality education and a place you would enjoy calling home for the next 4 years.

What’s your major/minor?
- I am a Political Science Major with a Business Economics Minor and I am enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters at Notre Dame.
Any Hobbies?
- My favorite hobby that I am most known for on the team is cutting hair. I learned how to cut hair from my grandfather when I was young and started practicing and developing my own barbering skills throughout the years. I actually cut most of my teammates hair on a regular basis. It’s a great way to connect with my teammates on a personal basis and earn a little extra cash. My other hobbies include hiking and making ceramics.
Accolades to Date (including HS and College)?
- My senior year at McDonogh I earned All-State, All-MIAA and was named an Under Armour All-American.
Best College Lacrosse Moment to Date?
- My best College Lacrosse moment to date was beating Syracuse in the Carrier Dome on their 100th year anniversary game as a program. The stadium was filled with thousands of fans and alumni hoping to see a Syracuse victory and we ended up winning 17-6. It was the most complete game our team has played in my 3 years playing for Notre Dame so far. Our offense and defense were firing on all cylinders that day.
Favorite Pregame Meal?
- My favorite pregame meal is Chicken Parmesan with sautéed green beans on the side.
Favorite Pregame Song?
- My favorite pregame song is the opening theme to the movie Bloodsport. It’s a very calming melody and relieves me of any nerves I may have before a big game.
Any Pregame Superstitions?
- I don’t really have any weird pregame superstitions but I never eat a heavy meal the day of a game. When I eat light and hydrate well I feel quicker on my feet during performance.
How many years were you with the Roughrider program?
- I played in the Roughrider program for four years and had the privilege of being coached by Lee and Booker for three of those years.
What did you learn from your Roughrider Coaches?
- Coach Lee taught me to play the game with tempo and aggression. He encouraged his defenseman to push transition and keep to the signature Roughrider “Run-and-gun” style of lacrosse. My Roughrider coaches also stressed the importance of team camaraderie and did a great job setting up program-wide tailgates in between tournament games.
Best Roughrider Moment?
- My favorite Roughrider moment was beating the Adrenaline Tropics in the Championship of the Paradise Shootout in Naples. The Tropics were a hyped team from the West Coast with a talented roster full of D1 commits. The game went back and forth but we ended up tying the score in the final minute of the game and won in double OT.
Any advice for current High School players looking to play in College?
- My two pieces of advice for current High School players is to play multiple sports and to step outside their comfort zones during practice. College coaches love to recruit multiple-sport stars because they have an increased athletic IQ and tend not to be burnt out from playing lacrosse once they get to college. I had great experiences playing football and wrestling which helped me become a better athlete and lacrosse player down the road. Players should also never be afraid to step outside their comfort zone and be creative during practice. If you never explore your abilities and develop new skills in practice you won’t be able to do it in a game.

What’s your major/minor?
- I am a Finance and Economics major and a part of the Notre Dame Wall Street Club, a program designed to help students who are searching for a career in Finance. Upon graduation, I will be an Investment Banking Analyst at Brentwood Capital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Any Hobbies?
- Not too many hobbies…I enjoy traveling and hiking, but I’m not really able to do it that often.
Accolades to Date (including HS and College)?
- HS: Player of the Year for Howard County, Kelly Award for 3A/4A public schools (Maryland Player of the Year for the larger public schools), Student-Athlete of the Year for Howard High School
- College: Preseason ACC All American, ACC Academic All American
Best College Lacrosse Moment to Date?
- The Best college moment was when we beat UNC my freshman year at home. We were down by two with very little time left, but with a UNC penalty, we were able to score three quick goals and end the game in regulation. All of the fans stormed the field and it was an incredible experience to be a part of.
Favorite Pregame Meal?
- Favorite Pregame Meal: Probably chicken parm…(don’t really know honestly, it usually switches)
Favorite Pregame Song?
- We have some kids on our team that will play music in our locker room so I usually listen to what they have playing. But if that not the case I would probably throw on some music by Russ or Post Malone.
Any Pregame Superstitions?
- I used to be very superstitious when I was younger and would do just about everything the same way before a game. Now I really don’t have too many superstitions. If I play well in a game I might mimic a part of my pregame routine, but if I don’t play as well the next game then I will do something different.
How many years were you with the Roughrider program?
- I was with the Roughrider organization for two years and have helped coach a couple of years after. It was an awesome experience and has helped me get to where I am today. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking to play at the next level.
What did you learn from your Roughrider Coaches?
- My coaches always looked out for my best interests both on and off the field. On the field, they taught me to be aggressive when opportunities arise, but they also stressed the importance of patience when things didn’t go as planned. When we were off the field, our coaches wanted us to conduct ourselves in a professional manner considering that college coaches were always watching.
Best Roughrider Moment?
- My favorite Roughrider moment was in my first year when we won a tournament up in Pennsylvania. Our team was short on numbers and we were playing in one of the hottest days of the summer. The last day of the tournament we played four games, and although everyone was so exhausted, we were still able to find a way and win each one. It was a very rewarding moment.
Any advice for current High School players looking to play in College?
- My advice for High School players looking to play in college would be to make sure that the college you choose is a place you would want to go even if you were unable to play lacrosse there. I have seen a number of people go to college just to play lacrosse and then soon realize that they hate the place they are at. Lacrosse has been a big part of my college experience but there are plenty of other things that have made my experience worthwhile. It is crucial to identify what you want in a school before you make your decision.

How was your first lacrosse Fall Ball as a Freshman? How was Fall Ball this past year (your Sophomore year)?
- My Freshman fall ball was a lot to take in at first. After coming from Wilde Lake HS I didn’t experience the speed and pace of the game, however, with the help of Roughriders, I was better prepared to be successful and stand out. Coming back as a sophomore I felt more prepared and was able to excel and help the new guys with the transition.
How was adjusting to school and being on campus away from home?
- Being away from home you have a lot more independence than everyone says. With the help of lacrosse, I am able to stick to a schedule to help enable me to be successful on and off the field.
What is the biggest difference on the lacrosse field from HS to college?
- The speed and intensity of the game. The guys you go up against are the best from across the country and were the stars at their high schools. Everything is dialed up to a whole other level.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
- I am looking forward to surprising the ODAC and leaving a mark on this season that a lot of people will remember.
Will you see action on the field and what is the team outlook?
- I’m looking to be a starting attackman for my team and also be on EMO. Our team is returning a lot of guys with experience as well so that will be in our favor as well.
Talk about your time commitment and what being a college athlete is like.
- It’s a lot. You have to stay on a schedule or you’ll fall behind both on and off the field.
Favorite experience in college so far on Or off the field?
- My favorite experience so far was our first home game, scoring against Catholic to go up at halftime and end up winning the game.
If you could do it over again what would you tell your HS self about making a college decision?
- I would tell my high school self to just relax and that I will find the right school and team for myself and my family.
What was your favorite Roughrider memory?
- Beating Masa Fresh at NSCLA and getting the game-winning goal!

How was adjusting to school and being on campus away from home?
- The biggest adjustment that I had was being on my own and having to be responsible about my school work, making sure I got everything done on time. We use a great website called Canvas, where my professors post all of our assignments and due dates, which makes keeping track of assignments easy. Another adjustment was managing my time between school, homework, and lacrosse. I had to make sure I was getting my homework done between classes and practice/lift. I did have some free time, but I made sure I was focusing on my schoolwork before I did anything else.
What are you most looking forward to this first season?
- What I am most looking forward to this season is the chance to play against some of the best programs in Division II. We have a pretty tough schedule staring off with our first game against University of Indianapolis. They are a program on the rise and are getting better and better every year. We play Limestone, reigning national champions, later on in the year. I am also really excited to play for the best college coaching staff in the country. They are always pushing me to become a better person and then a better lacrosse player.
Will you see action on the field and what is the team outlook?
- We are going to have a very strong team this year led by our 13 seniors. We were just ranked #5 in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll. We return most of our starters from last year. If I continue to work hard through minicamp and the first few weeks of practice, I have a good chance to see the field often. This decision is ultimately up to my coaches, but I am ready to help the team in any way that they need me to this year.
Favorite experience in college so far on OR off the field?
- My favorite on field experience so far has to be when I scored my first goal against Dickinson in our first scrimmage of the fall. I was fed by my former teammate in high school and I had a great time and room shot that went just below the crossbar. My favorite off field experience is how much time we spend together as a team. We are pretty much together all the time whether it is in the dorms or at one of the upperclassman’s house. We also did a great job about doing community service.
What was your favorite Roughrider memory?
- Some of my favorite Roughrider memories have to be playing for a fantastic coaching staff, making some great friends along the way, and playing in some great tournaments. I had the opportunity to play for Coach Matt Cornell and Coach Ed Street in my first summer with the Roughriders and then the following year for them plus Coach Lee and Booker Corrigan. They have a great connection with so many coaches and they are very respected in the lacrosse community. I learned so much from them that I put towards life and lacrosse. I had the chance to play with some great teammates that have become lifelong friends. We had the opportunity to play in some great tournaments like Rumble in Richmond and the Paradise Shootout.

How was your first lacrosse Fall Ball as a Freshman? How was Fall Ball this past year (your Sophomore year)?
- My first lacrosse fall ball was a real learning experience. Adjusting to the speed and strength of the college game not only the field, but in conditioning sessions and team lifts. Also learning to adjust to waking up very early in the morning for practices and conditioning was something that took some getting used to. Getting adjusting to managing free time to get schoolwork done in between all of these activities took some practice but the people around me helped out a lot. My second fall ball was much easier to handle. While the practices, lifts, and runs were just as intense, having already had one fall under my belt made getting through it a lot easier. Managing time for schoolwork, studying, and taking care of my body became easier to deal with.
How was adjusting to school and being on campus away from home?
- Adjusting to being away from home took a couple weeks to get used to, but the transition was a little easier than I thought it was going to be. Having teammates to be with on and off the field made the adjustment easier. The thing that took the most adjustment was getting used to the academic side of college, and really building that into my daily schedule. Once there was a routine set up that I was able to settle into, everything became more comfortable.
What is the biggest difference on the lacrosse field from HS to college?
- The biggest difference between high school and college lacrosse is the speed and lacrosse IQ that is on the field. Everyone and every position is fast and athletic, and knows the game very well. On offense, the slides come faster, the checks come harder, and the goalies are much better. On defense, the offense stick work is better, off ball movement is more precise, and the schemes are harder to pick up on. Then as a goalie, the shots come faster and more often, and from everywhere. You begin to adjust to all that, but it takes a couple practices.
Talk about your time commitment and what being a college athlete is like.
- Being a college athlete is a huge time commitment. From conditioning, to lifts, to practices, just those three things take up the most time each week. Once you add in time for taking care of your body and practicing outside of team activities, it often takes up the majority of the hours in my week. The trickiest part of all this making the time for getting schoolwork done and making sure every school requirement is taken care of. The time management skills are the hardest thing to develop early in your college career, but having them will make life so much easier.
What was your favorite Roughrider memory?
- It is hard to pinpoint one memory from my years playing for Roughriders, as I have so many possible ones to choose from. But I think my favorite one had to be in the summer of 2015 when our 2016 Elite team won the Summer Rumble championship. It was scorching hot in Richmond and we were short on guys but our team rallied together and was able to win the whole thing which was an awesome thing to be a part of.

How was your first lacrosse Fall Ball as a Freshman?
- My first fall ball was a great time. The work leading up to the games was tough, with lots of running and weight lifting, but not as much organized play due to NCAA rules but it was a lot of fun. We played a couple teams like Tampa, Florida Southern, Saint leo, etc. I got a decent amount of time on the field which is all I could have asked for being a freshman so overall it was a great fall ball season.
How was adjusting to school and being on campus away from home?
- I think the biggest thing for me adjusting to school was not the aspect of being alone and doing everything alone, but the aspect of being super far away from anyone in my family, was a little unsettling for a couple weeks. Once you get used to it and realize your teammates are always going to be there for you, then it makes the adjustment super easy. Also another hard aspect of adjusting to school is figuring out an academic plan that doesn’t push everything to the last minute.
What is the biggest difference on the lacrosse field from HS to college?
- The biggest difference from HS to college is definitely the size of the guys you are playing. Coming from St. Paul’s, the speed didn’t change all that much, but the size of the players jumped juristically.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
- I want to win a championship this season. We lost in the finals last year and we brought in a good freshman class and a couple of transfers that are solid so I’m looking forward to getting everything in sync and dialed in to win a championship.
Will you see action on the field and what is the team outlook?
- Yeah I will see action on the field. I started in the fall and I assume to be starting again when the season rolls around. Again the team outlook is to win a championship. We have a lot of returning guys and all those guys are hungry from losing last year. There is a lot of unfinished business.
Talk about your time commitment and what being a college athlete is like.
- Time commitment is a lot DURING the season. Practice 3 hours a day, study table hours all week at night, math lab hours, and meetings with Student athlete advisors. There’s a huge commitment as student athletes, but it’s all there for success.
Favorite experience in college so far on or off the field?
- My favorite experience has to be on the field when I scored my first collegiate goal. Nothing huge, but it was a cool moment.
If you could do it over again what would you tell your HS self about making a college decision?
- If I could do the whole process over again, I would wait later in my HS years to commit to a school. I committed sophomore year and didn’t look at as many schools as I wanted to. I wish I would have opened my views up to others schools and not rushed the process just to “commit.”
What was your favorite Roughrider memory?
- Favorite moments from Roughriders for sure had to always be practice with Coach Lee, as well as trip down to Florida every year. Lastly, my Roughrider team had a bunch of good dudes on it. I met a lot of lifetime friends on that team and it was awesome experience.

What was your first lacrosse Fall Ball Like?
- I enjoyed my first collegiate lacrosse fall ball season. Over the 5 week practice period, I felt it was a great time to meet everybody on the team and create new friendships. It also was very helpful for me because it made me realize the increase in strength and speed of play that I had to develop in the future of my athletic career. Lastly, I believe it was a great time for myself to display a good first impression on my coaches through the practices, weight room, and scrimmages.
How was adjusting to school and being on campus away from home?
- From a school aspect, college is a huge step from high school. As a collegiate athlete, I found that in the first weeks of school it was required to find a perfect balance between academics, athletics and social life. Being away from home during college has made me realize that I am completely responsible for myself for the first time ever in my life. Although high school to college was a huge change, I found that it will help further my success in the future.
What is the biggest difference on the lacrosse field from High School to College?
- I believed for myself that the biggest difference was the overall speed of play. In high school almost everyone is not focusing on getting faster and stronger during the offseason. However, in college I noticed that it is mandatory to keep up with the overall speed and strength of other players so that you will be able to compete successfully. If you don’t maintain a steady workout program, you will not be successful.
If you could do it over again what would you tell your High School self about making a college decision?
- If I could relive my high school recruiting process, I would make sure to tell myself to not solely focus on the lacrosse aspect of every college that was recruiting me. In my early years as a high school student, I found that I was really only interested in colleges solely to play lacrosse. Instead, I should have focused on every aspect that each university or college has to offer. I found it helpful when making my college decision to ask myself this question on each school I was considering: “Would I still attend this school/university if I was not playing lacrosse?”. If the answer is no then that school is not for you. Luckily, I believe that Hampden-Sydney is a place in which if I were not playing lacrosse, I would still attend and enjoy the college experience.
What was your favorite Roughrider memory?
- My favorite roughrider memory was during my rising senior year when my Roughrider team won the Trilogy tournament championship. I believed it was special because it was the last tournament that the team and myself would ever play for Roughriders. I remember it being an extremely hot July day and Andrew Hurdle bringing his usual liquid smoke to hit an OT game winner for the championship. Although it was bittersweet, I believe that to be my best RR memory.

Come watch Aidan and the Greensboro Pride play this Spring! – 2018 Schedule
High School
- Mt. St. Joseph
College

How was adjusting to school and being on campus away from home?
- It was definitely a big change. I’m a Maryland kid who never moved growing up, so packing my bags to go to Greensboro was a new experience for me. One of the nice things about being on a team was that I had a group of guys to hangout with from day one. You have guys from sophomores to seniors that know what it’s like to go away to school for the first time, and they really make it feel like home. On the school side of things, the biggest change is your schedule. The amount of work you get is larger than high school, and with fewer hours of class time you really have to budget time if you want to be successful.
What is the biggest difference on the lacrosse field from High School to college?
- The biggest change I would say is the physicality of the game. Once you get to college you’re no longer the oldest kid out there, you’re an 18 year old playing with guys in their twenties. Guys move faster and hit harder, and it takes a little to get used to it.
Talk about your time commitment and what being a college athlete is like.
- It can get pretty crazy at times. Whether it’s class, practice, team workouts, study hall, homework, individual workouts, watching film or dealing with the ordinary tasks of living on your own like cleaning, laundry, and cooking, time management is very important. Having a schedule for your day and going over it every morning is a must if you want to be productive.
Favorite experience in college so far on OR off the field?
- My favorite experience so far has been getting to know all the guys on the team. We have players from Colorado to Florida, and it has been a lot of fun hanging out with them and meeting a whole new group of people. Our team is a really tight knit group, and when you spend most of your time together it makes it that much better.
If you could do it over again what would you tell your High School self about making a college decision?
- To not get caught up in what everyone else is doing. Everyone has a different recruiting process, and to compare your path to someone else’s is pointless. Worry about what you’re doing and what’s best for you, the rest will take care of itself.
What was your favorite Roughrider memory?
- It would have to be pre-game speeches. Coach Lee is one of the best talkers in the game, hands down. He kept us laughing non-stop, but when it was time to go play “the bad guys” on the other team, he always knew what to say.

How many years were you with the Roughrider program?
- I Played for Coach Lee for 3 years as well as coached the oldest team with Coach Lee for 5 years.
What did you learn from your Roughrider Coaches?
- Coach Lee taught us how to be an unselfish player, but more importantly he taught us to be more than ‘Lacrosse Players’. He made sure we had the cleanest sideline, we had to pick up trash or water bottles after each game, he had us carry our own gear when walking from the field to our team tent, and he reminded us to be respectful to our teammates, the opponent, the referees, and our parents. Coach Lee made sure that we knew that being a Roughrider meant more than being a ‘lacrosse player’- it always went further than the game.
Best Roughrider Moment?
- Beating Crabs twice.

How Many Years were You with Roughriders?
- I was in the program for 4 years, I started playing for the Roughriders in 8th grade.
Which Coach Was the Most Influential to You in the RR Program?
- Coach Lee, hands down. He helped me all of the way throughout my high school career, whether it was on the field or off the field. He helped me out tremendously with the recruiting process, and he even gave me an internship at CSE, he always tried to help me out.
What’d you learn from your Coaches?
- Coach Lee taught me how to ‘Bring It Everyday’. He always brought so much energy and enthusiasm to practices and games, and that’s how he wanted us to play. It was contagious and it taught me to play with a lot of the same energy and enthusiasm.
What’s Your Best Roughrider Moment?
- When we went to Naples, FL for the Paradise Shootout. We won a lot of games and even went to the Tournament Championship, but that wasn’t the best part about it. The best part was the team bonding and getting to hang out with each other on the beach. We not only had a really good team on the field, but also a great group of guys off the field.
Do You Have Any Hobbies?
- Surf in the summer, and snowboard in the winter.
Favorite Pregame Meal?
- ‘Cook Out’ or Chipotle with double chicken!
Favorite Pregame Song?
- Whatever is on my Sound Cloud. I’m into a lot of House and Rap Music.
Do You Have Any Pregame Superstitions?
- I try to do the same routine every game day. I show up to the locker room at a certain time and drink the same amount of coffee. I even put on eye black every game, even if it’s raining.
What’s Better? Saving a shot off of a midfielder or stuffing an attackman on the crease?
- I would have to say being able to deny the attackman’s shot on the crease, especially when they trash talk you all game, it’s nice to get one on them!
Alumni Question from Colin Heacock: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you travel to?
- Anywhere that has a beach with good waves!

You played for the MLL Pro team, Charlotte Hounds, what was the pro game like?
- Fast. Like anytime you move up to the next level in anything that you do, things come at you and go by you a lot faster. Everyone on the field is really good, and they could do it all, run, catch, shoot, score, go behind the back, dive around the crease. It was amazing to play in the MLL, and I learned a lot from the guys I played with and against.
You’ve been out of school for a couple years now, what do you do?

- 2012 NCAA Division I National Champions
- 2012 E.C.A.C. Conference Champions
- 2014 Patriot League Conference Champions
What was it like to win a National Championship?
- It was incredible how we out-willed teams throughout the season, and made the incredible feat of beating Denver 3 times during the season. I was in awe during the entire Final Four weekend, especially during warmups, looking up in the stands and seeing fans and little kids cheering for your team. I was that kid in the stands years ago, so it’s an amazing feeling.
You work at Loyola University now, what do you do there as an employee?
- I am the Assistant Director of Athletic Development. I help with the fundraising and increase alumni engagement.
Where do you live now?
- I live in Fed Hill now, with my brother K.R., who is a Roughrider coach for the 2018/2019 team.
How many years were you in the Roughrider program?
- I played for the Roughriders for 2 years, and coached the Roughriders for 2 years.
What was your best off the field memory as a Roughrider?
- We had the best tailgates! Our entire team would hang out at the Roughrider tailgate, tell stories, and would get to know each other. A lot of us didn’t go to the same school so it was pretty cool how we became really close as a club team which doesn’t happen often.
What is your favorite pregame meal?
- Roland Park Bagel – Sausage, egg, and cheese.
What is your favorite pregame song?
- Yeah! by Usher… Young guys, look it up!
Alumni question from Greg Edmonds: Would you rather go sky diving or bungee jumping?
- Oh, I would definitely go sky diving! If you’re going to do something like that, you might as well do it big!
Pose the next alumni question for the next ‘Catch Up’ alum.
- If you had the option of riding in the car to a summer tournament with Coach Lee or Coach Booker, who would it be? Why?
